The town of Xirivella is preparing to host an expanded edition of its International Clown Festival. Between October 22 and November 22, the municipality will offer a total of 12 shows, surpassing last year's figure, in addition to a variety of complementary activities designed for all audiences.
Mayor Paqui Bartual has highlighted the municipality's continued commitment to culture and this event, which she considers a "hallmark" of Xirivella. The addition of one more show to the program aims to consolidate the festival's quality and diversity.
The program will combine performances in halls and open spaces. Seven events will be free and held in the town's streets and squares, while five performances will take place at the Municipal Auditorium. The School Mostreta will introduce clowning to younger audiences, and other activities like the Trenet de la Rialla, storytelling, and workshops will complete the offerings.
The official inauguration, on November 7, will feature the company Yllana and their show Goool, a humorous satire about the world of football. On the same day, the street program will kick off with Pilots, by La Finestra Nou Circ, which will tour various areas of the municipality.
The indoor program will include shows such as The Pestoff by Clownbaret, Ulises by Antonio Campos (Albacity Corporation), and 3Clown by the French company Les Bleus de Travail. The festival's closing act will be by Edu Soto, who will present Más vale solo que ciento volando. Revolution, a show blending humor, music, and improvisation.
Tickets for the auditorium shows will be priced at a popular 5 euros, with reduced rates for youth, students, retirees, and large families. A Mostra Pack will be available for all five indoor shows for 16 euros (14 euros for youth and students). The pack sale will run from October 5 to 22, and individual tickets will be available from October 23.
