Mislata celebrated Nou d’Octubre today with an institutional event in the Plaza de la Constitución, where Honorary Distinctions were awarded to five individuals and groups for their contributions to the city.

The event served to champion Valencian identity, coexistence, and the defense of rights, returning to its historic location in the Plaza de la Constitución. Following the ceremony, the Senyera was paraded, and an homage was paid to the Fallas committees.
The Honorary Distinctions recognize the careers, commitment, and contributions of individuals and groups who enrich the cultural, scientific, educational, and social life of Mislata. Mayor Carlos F. Bielsa emphasized in his institutional speech the importance of building an open, diverse, and cohesive city, recalling the legacy of hard-won rights and the need to defend public services.
This year's honorees include the Centro Instructivo Musical de Mislata (CIM) for its long history in music education; the Academia de Baile Stylos for its 30th anniversary in dance; internationally renowned physicist Pablo Jarillo-Herrero for his scientific research; the teachers and AMPAs of public education in Mislata for their daily dedication; and the Coordinadora Vecinal de Mislata for its work defending public spaces and services.
The day continued with the civic procession of the Senyera to the Huerto de Casa Sendra, where the Fallas committees paid homage to this symbol of Valencian identity. The celebration concluded with a mascletà (firecracker display) in the Plaza Mayor, orchestrated by Pirotecnia Turís.
