The exhibition, which premiered in Madrid on October 28, 2025, continues its tour in L'Horta Sud with the collaboration of the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud and the Alaquàs City Council. The event was attended by the Mayor of Alaquàs, Toni Saura, the Councillor for Culture, Marta Murciano, the president of the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud, José Cabanes, the deputy in the Congress of Deputies for Valencia, Àgueda Micó, and the director of the Unió de Periodistes Valencians, Carmen Ripollés.
Representatives from the main DANA victims' associations also spoke: Ernesto Martínez (Association of Fatal Victims DANA-29O), Mariló Gradolí (Association of Victims DANA October 29, 2024), and Paula Sanchis (Association of Victims and Affected by DANA Valencia). Additionally, representatives from the Association of Affected by the Riuà of Aldaia were present.
The exhibition consists of 45 images by 37 photojournalists documenting all aspects of the tragedy, from the initial moments to the emergency response efforts and early reconstruction work. The photographs, selected by the Unió de Periodistes Valencians and produced by ArtiClar, cover the most affected areas, with a significant presence of Paiporta, but also Sedaví, Massanassa, Alfafar, Catarroja, Aldaia, Picanya, various parts of Valencia (la Torre, l'Albufera), and towns such as Sot de Xera, Utiel, Algemesí, Xiva, l’Alcúdia, and Letur (Albacete).
‘Un año de la DANA’ serves as a tribute to Valencian photojournalism and a collective visual testimony to keep alive the memory of one of the most devastating meteorological events in recent years.
This event marks the beginning of a special program organized by the Alaquàs City Council for the 2nd anniversary of the DANA. It includes the theatrical performance 'Estamos perdidas' (Friday, October 16th), a tribute event (Saturday, October 17th), the presentation of the book 'Ceràmic' by Adrià Hernández (Tuesday, October 20th), the workshop ‘Deconstruction of the Unattainable' (Wednesday, October 21st), a tribute to victims (Sunday, October 25th), and a commemoration for the 2nd Anniversary of the DANA (Thursday, October 29th).
