The Abastos Sports Complex in Valencia will receive an investment of over 18 million euros for a comprehensive renovation, as approved by the Local Government Board.

The Local Government Board of Valencia has given final approval to the basic and execution project for the comprehensive renovation of the Abastos Sports Complex. This initiative will involve an investment exceeding 18 million euros, marking a new step in the transformation of this key municipal facility in the Extramurs district.
The company Complejo Deportivo Abastos SL, a commercial entity established by Grupo Demmero, will be responsible for carrying out the works. The council awarded the concession for this space for 25 years to Grupo Demmero, which already manages the Piscina de València through its brand Suma Fitness Club.
The technical document presented by the concessionaire sets a base tender budget of 18.5 million euros. The initiative includes a complete overhaul of the sports areas and associated services, aiming to adapt the equipment to current user needs.
The intervention will cover the swimming pools, physical activity rooms, changing rooms, administrative areas, cafeteria, and access zones. It will also improve outdoor spaces, including paddle tennis courts and training areas, as well as renovating essential facilities such as air conditioning, ventilation, domestic hot water production, electricity, fire protection, water supply and drainage, and photovoltaic solar energy.
According to the council, the project integrates criteria for accessibility, safety, sustainability, and energy efficiency, while preserving the heritage values of the building. The complex, located on Alberic street, is classified as a Local Relevance Asset (BRL) and is a recognizable architectural landmark in Arrancapins.
