The Valencia Provincial Council has approved a 700,000 euro grant for the improvement of the Pansero road in Cortes de Pallás, a key route for internal municipal connectivity and access to essential services such as the General Hospital of Requena.

The investment will focus on improving drainage, repairing the road surface, and reinforcing road safety. Works will include the adaptation of ditches, repair of deteriorated sections, renewal of safety barriers, and signage. The Pansero road is considered a strategic route, connecting the urban center with the northern hamlets and serving as the fastest itinerary to the General Hospital of Requena, a reference center for residents.
The second vice-president and head of Roads, Reme Mazzolari, highlighted that the Pansero road exemplifies a route of territorial interest, as it connects an extensive municipal area and facilitates access to essential services. For his part, the mayor of Cortes de Pallás, David Herrera, recalled the residents' demand to improve this road, which is currently in poor condition and necessitates long journeys to Requena.
The territorial dispersion of Cortes de Pallás makes this project particularly relevant. It will directly benefit the hamlets of Castilblanques and La Cabezuela, and improve communication with other settlements such as Viñuelas, Los Herreros, Venta de Gaeta, and El Oro. Furthermore, the road is considered a useful evacuation route in emergencies.
The works will involve constructing a new transversal drainage system with a 600-millimeter diameter pipe and 10 meters in length, adapting ditches, repairing potholes and cracks, and reinforcing the most deteriorated sections. Safety barriers will also be replaced, and signage improved.
This investment is in addition to another provincial grant of 427,599 euros to improve the road from Cortes de Pallás to Millares via Otonel, which also includes measures to reinforce the road surface, drainage, and road safety over 1.27 kilometers.
