A 28-year-old man, recently released from Picassent prison, was pursued and shot at the entrance to Valencia, culminating in the arrest of a 22-year-old man and an investigation into a possible revenge related to drug trafficking.

A 28-year-old Spanish national was pursued yesterday afternoon from the Antoni Asunción-València II prison in Picassent. As he left in a grey vehicle, he noticed a black car with two occupants following him. One of the pursuers fired at his vehicle, hitting it on the side. The victim accelerated towards Valencia, entering via the Anzuelos roundabout, despite several shots being fired.
Upon reaching the entrance to Valencia, the man abandoned his car. At that moment, the black vehicle stopped, and a 22-year-old Moroccan national got out and pointed a pistol at him, firing at least twice. A struggle ensued during which his t-shirt was pulled off. The pursued driver fled and attempted to take refuge in a nearby hotel.
A patrol from the Local Police of Valencia, conducting traffic control duties, heard the shots around 8 PM. They alerted their colleagues and the National Police, heading quickly to the area. Several patrols were dispatched to clarify the events.
The shooter was located at a bus stop, where he attempted to discard the weapon, a 9-millimeter Glock with armor-piercing ammunition, by throwing it into a bin. The Local Police proceeded with his arrest. Two shell casings were found near the Anzuelos roundabout, in addition to the impact on the victim's vehicle.
The National Police have taken over the investigation, which points to a possible revenge related to drug trafficking, with potential origins in Madrid. The driver of the black vehicle fled and has not yet been located. Security camera footage from the hotel where the victim sought refuge will be reviewed to complete the sequence of events.
