The first edition of the Montanejos Film Fest has concluded, awarding 'Furia' as the best short film and recognizing the career of actress Rosana Pastor.

The film Furia, directed by Fran Moreno and Santi Pujol, has been awarded best short film at the inaugural Montanejos Film Fest. The festival, held in the gardens of Villa Purificación, presented its first-ever awards at a special gala.
The mayor of Montanejos, Miguel Sandalinas, highlighted the suitability of the venue and stated that the festival "is here to stay every summer".
Valencian actress Rosana Pastor received the award for professional career achievement for her extensive dedication to cinema, television, and theater. The actress, who won a Goya for best new actress in 1995 for Land and Freedom, was recognized for her talent and commitment to her craft.
In other categories, Carlos Santos received the award for Best Actor for his role in Montecarlo 67, while Júlia Fortaña was recognized as Best Actress for her performance in La barraca.
The short film Faustino, directed by Germán Mairen, won the Audience Award. The festival, which featured five open-air sessions with an average attendance of 150 people, received 850 high-quality short films, according to Sergi González, the festival's director.
Following the success of this first edition, the municipality is already looking forward to the second, which is being organized with "such positive momentum" for the summer of 2027, González stated.
