The Ontinyent City Council has begun conditioning work on the Fuset forest road to improve access to forest areas and strengthen fire prevention, with a subsidy of 13,363.41 euros from the Provincial Council of Valencia.

The action, which has a subsidy of 13,363.41 euros from the Provincial Council of Valencia, aims to facilitate access to forest areas and reinforce resources for fire prevention and extinction. The Councilor for Sustainability, Sayo Gandia, highlighted the importance of maintaining forest access in good condition to facilitate surveillance and the rapid response of emergency services.
The intervention affects a stretch of approximately 1,960 meters starting from the CV-665 road. The work includes cleaning, leveling, and compacting the platform, as well as adding artificial gravel to improve the base. The pavement will also be given the appropriate slope to facilitate water drainage, and the ditches will be cleaned.
The objective is to ensure a minimum width of 3.5 meters for the safe passage of vehicles for forest fire surveillance, maintenance, and extinction, thereby improving the response to emergencies.
This action is part of a package of measures subsidized by the Provincial Council of Valencia for forest management and fire prevention in Ontinyent. In addition to road repairs, 12,500 euros have been granted for the review of local emergency plans and 17,242.27 euros for the acquisition of a pick-up vehicle equipped with a high-pressure extinguishing system. The three actions total 43,105.68 euros.
