Oliva City Council has announced the comprehensive renovation of the Almirall Carròs Maritime Promenade (Sector 5), with a budget of €435,594.66 and an execution period of less than five months.

Improvement works on the Almirall Carròs promenade in Oliva will officially commence on September 21st. This intervention aims to transform an urban space built in the early 1990s, which currently shows significant wear. The renovation will include replacing the concrete pavement with a new draining surface in sandy yellow and grey tones, with completion expected by Easter 2027.
The total investment amounts to €435,594.66, entirely funded by municipal resources. This figure stems from the works contract awarded on April 2nd, 2026, which included a 1.76% reduction from the tender budget. The governing team decided to postpone the start until after the peak summer season to minimize resident inconvenience and ensure beach accessibility.
Existing street furniture, acquired in 2025 through European Next Generation Funds from the Sustainable Tourism Plan (PSTD), will be temporarily removed and reinstalled once the promenade works are finished. The furniture acquisition cost €23,158.36.
The project ensures accessible mobility for individuals with reduced mobility or sensory impairments. The new pavements will be non-slip and form a single, continuous surface, guaranteeing universal accessibility.

"This promenade is very old because it's been many years and the materials have worn out. This action will improve the promenade's appearance, giving it much more life, with livelier color tones. Pedestrian safety will also be improved, eliminating the risks posed by the poor condition of the ground."

Yolanda Pastor · Mayor of Oliva

"After all the preparation work for the projects and the tender for the works, we are ready to begin necessary works for Oliva's beach. Following the great effort made to install elevated access walkways to the beaches, the renovation of all public lighting, and the acquisition of furniture, we now turn to the renewal of the Almirall Carròs promenade, which needs action due to its significant wear."

Joan Mata · Councillor for Urban Planning, Contracting, and Heritage
The works, estimated to last four and a half months, are part of a unified design that also includes the future Muntanyars promenade project, thus ensuring aesthetic consistency between the two consecutive spaces.
