Orihuela Local Police have arrested a driver in Orihuela Costa who caused a traffic accident and subsequently fled the scene, testing positive for alcohol.

The incident occurred when a white vehicle collided with a car carrying a family on their way to breakfast. As a result of the collision, the affected individuals required medical assistance for bruises.
After the accident, the driver of the offending vehicle fled on foot. According to police sources, the man hid among some bushes and, upon being discovered by officers, began to run. The Local Police initiated a foot pursuit that concluded with his location and arrest.
Once intercepted, he was subjected to an alcohol test, registering a level of 0.62 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air. For these actions, the driver faces a presumed offense against road safety.
This incident highlights the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol and the serious consequences it can have for other road users. The Local Police have reiterated their awareness message: 'If you drink, don't drive'.
