The new management model, which has been submitted to the commission following the public exhibition period, focuses on a 100% electric fleet and optimized service frequencies. To cover the new features, the annual municipal contribution has been set at 380,420 euros, an update from the previous 366,000 euros.
One of the most notable novelties is the creation of a shuttle line that will connect the Renfe station with the Hospital Universitari Francesc de Borja. This service will also cover the commercial area, the Benieto industrial estate, and, on Sundays, the cemetery, consolidating the train station as the central hub of the network.
The project also promotes intermodality through free transfers between lines. Regarding fares, new social tickets are being introduced for people with disabilities, the unemployed, and large families, in addition to 24 and 48-hour tourist passes, while maintaining discounts for students and retirees. The government team expects the contract to come into operation during the first half of 2027.
