The Alberic City Council has officially proclaimed Claudia Martínez i Sancho as the new Fallera Mayor for the 2027 festivities, accompanied by her Court of Honor.

The Plenary Hall of the Alberic City Council was the setting last Friday, September 4th, for the first official event of the Fallas calendar for the 2027 festivities. The event culminated with the proclamation of Claudia Martínez i Sancho as the new Fallera Mayor, along with her Court of Honor, composed of Silvia Alberola i Iborra, Belen Boix i González, and Sara Machí i Belvis.
With the council hall full, Alberic welcomed Martínez, the municipality's highest representative during the festivities. In her speech, Martínez expressed the significance of the day, stating that "today is one of those days that remain in memory forever." She emphasized her connection to the town, affirming that "Alberic is home, and it is a privilege to feel part of the place where you were born, to be able to get involved in its traditions, participate in its culture, and, above all, to contribute a piece of yourself to the life of your town."
Isabel Beta, Councilor for Fallas, addressed the Fallera Mayor, wishing her "a year full of unforgettable moments." She acknowledged the challenges of the role, anticipating that "your feet will hurt, you will be tired, you will want to sit down... and yet you will have to show your best smile." Beta expressed confidence that Martínez will be "an impeccable Fallera Mayor."
Raúl Rabadán, President of the Local Fallas Board of Alberic, defended the role of the Fallera Mayor in the festival. He stated that "Claudia, today you begin to be part of Alberic's history." He highlighted her enthusiasm and eagerness to live the experience "to the fullest" and to contribute to a festival that "makes you vibrate and excites you incandescently."
To conclude the event, the Mayor of Alberic, Toño Carratalá, acknowledged the predisposition of the Fallas members and emphasized the importance of consolidating the figure of the Fallera Mayor in the municipality. "Promoting a figure like this and making the whole town understand its importance is not easy," he noted, "but I think that in Alberic it has always been understood, and little by little we have been consolidating it until it has become the benchmark of our Fallas." He concluded by thanking the commissions for their support and highlighting how this figure allows "to put our town's name on the map of the Fallas of the Valencian Community."
