The Castellón City Council has highlighted the availability of 36 climate oases, including air-conditioned municipal buildings, shaded parks, and five refrigerated water fountains, to provide shelter from the anticipated high temperatures.

The city of Castellón offers 36 climate oases, a network designed to provide refuge from intense heat. These locations include air-conditioned municipal facilities, green areas with shade and trees, and five refrigerated drinking water fountains strategically placed throughout the city.
According to municipal information, the indoor spaces are equipped with air conditioning, drinking water, and seating for rest. In addition to these facilities, the network is complemented by eight parks and green spaces offering natural shade, and the five refrigerated fountains, situated in key spots like Plaza Fadrell or Paseo Buenavista.
The Councilor for Heritage, Vicent Sales, emphasized that this initiative, launched for periods of intense heat, encourages residents to consult the municipal map to find the nearest refuge. Sales cited the example of a woman who found shelter and water at the Negociat d'Interculturalitat.
Most of these points are municipal buildings and facilities spread across various neighborhoods, such as the Sant Agustí i Sant Marc Reading Space, the Palau de la Festa, or the Patronat d'Esports. The network also includes outdoor areas like Ribalta Park or El Pinar, which primarily offer shade and vegetation.
The council advises taking extreme precautions during the central hours of the day, maintaining adequate hydration, and paying special attention to vulnerable groups during heatwaves.
