The Josep F. Chaqués and Noverques Foundation has been officially presented in Benifaió, bringing together over three hundred people to showcase its historical archive.

Over three hundred people gathered last Saturday, October 3rd, at the Enric Valor Cultural Center in Benifaió for the official presentation of the Josep F. Chaqués and Noverques Foundation. This foundation collects valuable materials including videos, posters, photos, and documents that are part of Valencian history, encompassing events from Escola Valenciana, the Sambori Foundation, Edelvives Publishing House, and traditional Latin sailing in the Albufera of Valencia, as highlighted by its Founder Josep Chaqués.
During the event, a video was screened from the 1st Meeting of schools in Valencian held in Benifaió on April 20, 1986. The video, considered a historical document, reflects a day of struggle, work, and celebration for the seventeen schools that began teaching in Valencian in the Ribera region.
“

"The effort of its founder to have been preserving for over forty years all the documents that are part of the history of our schools and Valencian society."

Rosanna Martínez · President of Escola Valenciana
Rosanna Martínez, President of Escola Valenciana, highly praised this effort. Following her, Ciprià Ciscar provided an important assessment of the foundation's creation, encouraging future generations to learn about their history.
“

"This material that Josep Chaqués has preserved has great value, it is a Valencian heritage that is configured as a space of memory, but also of the future, it is a commitment so that what for so many years has been built with effort and enthusiasm continues to live."

Marta Ortiz · Mayor of Benifaió
Mayor Marta Ortiz also emphasized the great value of the material preserved by Josep Chaqués, considering it a key Valencian heritage for the future. Chaqués expressed his feelings of recognition and stressed the importance of continuing to work so that future generations learn about this part of history. The event concluded with the opening of the exhibition of materials collected by the foundation.
