The fire, which has created a perimeter of 72 kilometers, has forced nearly 10,000 people to remain evacuated over the last few days. However, the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (Cecopi) has authorized the return of 6,000 residents from four neighborhoods in the town, who must remain under home confinement until 8:00 AM this Tuesday.
The Regional Minister for Emergencies, Juan Carlos Valderrama, confirmed that although the fire is not yet under control, firefighting efforts are ongoing. During Monday's operations, the team had to adjust their planning due to wind conditions, which prevented the use of aerial assets for safety reasons.
The response team working in the area is cautiously optimistic about the expected wind shift, which could facilitate containment efforts in the coming hours. Meanwhile, authorities are maintaining mobility restrictions on several road sections affected by the proximity of the flames.
