The urban exhibition, part of the special program promoted by the council, reviews half a century of bullfighting history and tradition in the city. Of the 28 double-sided vinyl panels, 16 are installed in the Plaza Mayor and 12 on La Tanda street, near the Plaza de la Mercè.
This initiative is part of the institutional and bullfighting events prepared by the City Council to celebrate this milestone. The program also includes a commemorative gala held on May 24th at the Teatro Payà, the publication of a historical book with nearly 450 photographs, the design of commemorative attire, and the exhibition of the bull ‘Tutor’ from the Garcigrande ranch on September 7th.
Throughout its five decades of existence, the Toro Commission has been a fundamental pillar in the organization and preservation of street bullfighting events in Burriana, establishing the capital of La Plana Baixa as a key reference for popular bullfighting in the Valencian Community.
The Councilor for Festivals, Paloma Boix, highlighted that “this open-air exhibition allows us to share with all residents and visitors the legacy of an essential institution for the city.” She added that “paying tribute to the 50 years of the Toro Commission means valuing the tireless work of hundreds of people who have dedicated their efforts to keeping alive one of the most deeply rooted identities of our festivals.”
