The Mayor of Castelló, Begoña Carrasco, has called on citizens to join the 12th solidarity march 'A Walk for Life', scheduled for Sunday, October 18th, with the goal of advancing breast cancer research.

With 4,400 people already registered, the event expects to surpass a thousand participants. Each registration represents a direct contribution to research teams. The mayor received the initiative's commemorative t-shirt, designed by Lola Casademunt, during a meeting attended by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Clara Adsuara, the Vice President of the Le Cadó Foundation, Susana Pérez, and the entity's secretary, Jordi Font de Mora.
Carrasco highlighted the significant work of the Le Cadó Foundation in fundraising for breast cancer research projects. She emphasized that this twelfth march reflects the public's involvement and contributes to progress in understanding and treating the disease.
The march will commence on Sunday, October 18th, at 10:30 AM from Rafalafena Park and conclude at Ribalta Park. The day will feature entertainment for participants, with an entry fee of 10 euros.
As a new feature this year, the City Council of Castelló, along with collaborating companies and institutions, will cover all logistical costs. This ensures that the full amount from registrations will be directly allocated to the four research projects supported by the Le Cadó Foundation.
The mayor noted that the collaboration between the City Council, companies, and institutions guarantees that every euro raised reaches the projects entirely. She stressed that joining forces allows for increased contributions to a cause that involves the entire society.
Following the march, 60,000 euros will be presented at Ribalta Park, partly from the donations of this event. These funds will be distributed equally, with 15,000 euros allocated to each of the four projects: INCLIVA, CAFO-UJI, EMBARCAM by GEICAM, and IRB Barcelona.
