Castelló City Council has allocated over 2 million euros to Third Sector social entities, the largest amount since 2019, to strengthen social justice in the city.

The mayor of Castelló, Begoña Carrasco, presided over the signing of new nominative agreements with more than thirty social entities from the Third Sector operating in the city. Alongside the mayor were the Councilor for Social Welfare and the Elderly, Clara Adsuara, and the Councilor for Social Coexistence and Interculturality, Vicent Sales.
Carrasco highlighted that the contribution of over 2 million euros, representing an increase in subsidies between 5% and 20% for nearly 40 entities, is the largest amount allocated to these agreements since 2019. She stated that these funds help reach areas where administrations often cannot, serving as the eyes, hands, and heart of solidarity.
The mayor emphasized the Municipal Government's commitment to social justice, aiming for all citizens to have opportunities. She mentioned the 1st Municipal Plan for the Elderly, focusing on combating unwanted loneliness and ageism, and the 1st Municipal Mental Health Plan, developed with the support of professional associations.
Carrasco also underscored the government's commitment to family well-being and promotion, highlighting the creation of the Department of Family and Children and the launch of the “Family House”.
Finally, she thanked the families, users, volunteers, and professionals of each association, recognizing their role as the heart that moves thousands of people and helps build a more humane, inclusive Castelló focused on people's needs.
