A total of 55 young people from L'Alfàs del Pi and the Marina Baixa region participated last Sunday in the 'Beyond Borders 2026' event, organized by the L'Alfàs del Pi City Council, to introduce European opportunities.

The event, organized through the Eurodesk Multiplier Point, was aimed at young people aged 16 to 29 and combined information and guidance with leisure activities. The initiative is part of the European campaign Time to Move 2026, aiming to make European programs accessible and practical, especially for those who haven't had an international experience yet.
The event included participants from Alaquàs, thanks to collaboration between the city councils of Alaquàs and L'Alfàs del Pi, as well as attendees from municipalities like La Nucía, Benidorm, and Polop de la Marina. It fostered a space for coexistence and exchange where attendees could share concerns and discover options for studying, traveling, internships, international projects, or volunteering in Europe.
Information was provided on programs such as Eurodesk, the European Solidarity Corps, Erasmus+, and DiscoverEU. Explanations were combined with group dynamics and activities coordinated by the heads of the Eurodesk Points in L'Alfàs del Pi and Alaquàs, José Madrid and Juan Granados.
A notable moment was the cooperative scavenger hunt, organized by the Valencian Community Volunteering Platform, which promoted teamwork. A panel of international volunteering experiences was also held with young people and representatives from the association De Amicitia.
The Councilor for Cooperation and Volunteering, Isabel Muñoz, positively assessed the event, highlighting youth interest in exploring new realities and seizing European opportunities. She thanked the collaborating volunteers.
Muñoz pointed out that a key aspect was bringing together young people from different municipalities to exchange experiences. She emphasized the practical nature of the event and the value of hearing real experiences, which help overcome apprehension and encourage taking the first step.
Through the activities, participants learned that international mobility is not just about traveling but also about learning languages, gaining autonomy, experiencing other cultures, developing new skills, and enhancing academic and professional opportunities.
The Eurodesk Multiplier Point in L'Alfàs del Pi will continue to offer guidance to young people interested in European mobility, training, or volunteering programs, providing information and support.
Under the slogan ‘Volunteering, Solidarity, and Mobility for Active European Citizenship’, ‘Beyond Borders 2026’ has strengthened collaboration between L'Alfàs del Pi and Alaquàs and created a meeting space for young people from the Valencian Community.
