The L'Alfàs del Pi Municipal Library hosted the workshop ‘Philosophy for Children around Fear’ yesterday afternoon, an activity designed for children.

The workshop invited participants to explore the concept of fear, express their emotions, and reflect on this sensation through dialogue and shared thinking. The session was led by Jordi Pla and organized by De Bat a Bat, as part of the cultural programming for All Saints' Day.
Through games, questions, and participatory dynamics, children were able to share their ideas about what scares them, listen to others' experiences, and discover different ways to understand and face their fears. Questions such as 'Why do we feel fear?', 'Why do some things scare us and others don't?', or 'How do our fears change as we grow?' served as a starting point for a session that turned an everyday emotion into a learning opportunity.
The workshop was based on the Philosophy for Children (P4C) methodology, promoted by Matthew Lipman and Ann Margaret Sharp. This technique uses dialogue as a fundamental tool to foster critical and creative thinking from an early age, encouraging children to ask questions, argue their opinions, and respect different viewpoints in a participatory and age-appropriate environment.
