The project, with a municipal investment of 238,033.78 euros (VAT included) and executed by the company Vías y Obras Aitana SL, addresses the need to ensure sufficient space at the cemetery for the future. The Councilor for Urban Planning, Toni Such, visited the facilities to check the progress of the work, which is proceeding as planned.
The new pavilion has been constructed using prefabricated concrete modules, complying with the Mortuary Health Police Regulations of the Valencian Community. The project also includes the urbanization and conditioning of the surrounding area to integrate the new facilities. As an improvement, all cemetery lighting has been renovated with LED technology to enhance illumination and promote energy efficiency.
Toni Such emphasized that the investment not only increases the cemetery's capacity but also improves its facilities and prepares it for future developments. The municipal cemetery, located on Els Xiprers street, covers an area of approximately 7,000 square meters and currently has around 1,600 niches and over a hundred columbaria. The last expansion took place in 2021.
