This international ranking evaluates the impact of scientific production using bibliometric indicators. The so-called C-index combines citations received, the h-index, and other indicators that consider co-authorship and author position in publications. The database provides metrics with and without self-citations and allows for the comparison of researchers' impact within their respective scientific fields.
Inclusion in these lists reflects the international visibility of research linked to the UMH and the Neurosciences Institute in disciplines such as medicine, neurosciences, food technology, engineering, and mathematics.
In the edition published in October 2026, two independent lists have been compiled: one considers the cumulative impact throughout the entire research career up to 2025, and another analyzes citations received during 2025. The selection includes the top 100,000 researchers by C-index, with or without self-citations, as well as those ranking in the top 2% of their scientific subfield. For the UMH, 38 individuals are listed for their career-long impact and 41 for annual impact; 24 appear on both lists, resulting in a total of 55 unique individuals.
The following lists, in alphabetical order, the 55 researchers linked to the UMH and the Neurosciences Institute included in these rankings, along with their respective scientific areas:
