The House of Culture in L'Alfàs del Pi hosted a weekend conference reflecting on machista violence from a feminist and intergenerational perspective, featuring Ana de Miguel, Beatriz Gimeno, and María Aránzazu Luque.

The event, organized by the Huellas de Mujer Association in collaboration with the Equality Department of the L'Alfàs del Pi City Council, brought together three perspectives to analyze manifestations of machista violence, current feminist challenges, and necessary collective responses.
The conference began with the inaugural lecture ‘Las violencias contra las mujeres: viejos patrones y nuevas formas’ (Violence Against Women: Old Patterns and New Forms), delivered by Ana de Miguel, a feminist philosopher and professor at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. De Miguel addressed the roots of inequality and new forms of violence and control.
Subsequently, Ana de Miguel shared a dialogue panel with Beatriz Gimeno, writer and feminist activist, and María Aránzazu Luque, social worker and trade unionist from CCOO Alacantí-Les Marines, in the meeting ‘Del pensamiento feminista a la acción colectiva’ (From Feminist Thought to Collective Action). The speakers contributed their experiences from academic, activist, and union backgrounds.
The gathering also included an open dialogue session for the public, facilitating the exchange of reflections and viewpoints. The female choir En-Canto, formed in Altea, provided an artistic touch with positive songs.
The Huellas de Mujer Association, founded in 2016 and based in l’Alfàs del Pi, reaffirms its commitment to disseminating feminist thought and creating spaces for citizen participation through this initiative.
