With a minute of silence in mourning and respect for the victims of the train accident that occurred in Urda, the ordinary October plenary session of the L'Alfàs del Pi City Council began. The council has taken the first step towards the construction of a Day Center within the municipality, initiating the preliminary process for a center with a capacity of 50 places, expandable to 100, as explained by the Spokesperson councilor, Toni Such.
The center will be located on a plot situated between Riu Castells and Riu Canyoles streets, in the Belmonte area, a location that meets the necessary conditions, is easily accessible, and is close to the urban center. The technical and administrative conditions for the tender, which will be processed through an open procedure, have been approved. Once the announcement is published on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, interested entities will have a period of 60 calendar days to submit their offers.
In other matters, the council has agreed to opt for fixed prices for municipal electricity supply, with 100% certified renewable energy. The contract, awarded to Iberdrola Clientes S.A.U., affects 118 municipal supply points and covers the period from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2028, with a total amount of 1,929,270.15 euros, including VAT. This modification responds to market condition reviews and provides greater certainty for budget planning.
A new ordinance on fees for the occupation of housing and other buildings has also been initially approved. The new regulation establishes fixed amounts: 150 euros for the first occupation of a dwelling and 100 euros for second or subsequent occupations. For buildings or independent parts intended for uses other than residential, the fee will be 200 euros. The new regulation, which repeals the previous one in force since 1993, will be subject to a 30-day public information period.
The Corporation has also approved the motion from the Partido Popular for the creation of a mural in homage to the footballer Ferran Torres, reproducing a work by the urban artist TVBoy. The proposal includes financing the project from the municipal Culture budget and placing an explanatory plaque.
Finally, motions regarding the creation of ecological islands have been repealed, and proposals from the Vox Municipal Group rejecting electoral roll manipulation, public service saturation due to mass immigration, cleaning of the Bulevar de los Músicos, and urging the Conselleria to urgently provide funds for air conditioning at IES l’Arabí have been dismissed.
