The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a special warning for a heatwave that will affect the Marina Alta from Sunday, July 5, until Tuesday, July 7.

The episode, caused by an air mass associated with an anticyclonic ridge, will lead to a progressive increase in temperatures. According to forecasts, Monday will see temperatures reach 35 degrees on the coast and 39 inland. The situation will worsen on Tuesday, when thermometers could reach 37 degrees by the sea and 42 in inland areas such as Pego and Segària.
Given this scenario, AEMET has established a yellow alert for Monday, effective between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Although the forecast for Tuesday is pending official confirmation, data suggests a continued rise in temperatures.
The Climatology Laboratory of the University of Alicante has warned of expected torrid nights, where minimum temperatures will not drop below 25 degrees. During the early hours from Friday to Saturday, municipalities such as Benissa, Calp, Dénia, and Xàbia already recorded high nighttime values, exceeding 25 degrees in their urban centers.
