Calp has received the "Más Bici 2026" seal, an award granted by La Vuelta that evaluates and rewards municipalities' commitment to the daily use of bicycles. With this distinction, Calp joins a network of 23 Spanish towns promoting active mobility.
The "Más Bici" seal, part of the 'La Vuelta es Más' program, is awarded after a rigorous evaluation in five areas: governance, infrastructure, services and education, sport, and tourism. A jury of experts has analyzed the candidacies to identify best practices and improvement opportunities.
The report highlights Calp's potential for active mobility thanks to its Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS) and its Intelligent Tourist Destination (DTI) strategy. Although its urban morphology may limit infrastructure deployment, its specialization in international sports cycling positions the municipality favorably. The main challenge is to balance elite tourism with everyday bicycle use.
Along with Calp, 18 other municipalities have obtained the seal, including locations such as Benidorm, Torrevieja, Castellón de la Plana, and Vitoria-Gasteiz, among others.
