The city of Dénia is kicking off a new season of free outdoor sports activities, which will run until May 2027, aiming to promote healthy lifestyles and revitalize public spaces.

The season of free physical exercise with music in Dénia will begin on Saturday, October 17th, and extend until May 2027. These sessions, open to people of all ages and without the need for prior registration, will be held at 11 AM in various public spaces across the city. The goal is to facilitate sports practice in a nearby, accessible, and participatory environment.
The Councilor for Sports, Valen Alcalà, emphasized the importance of continuing to expand the reach of this initiative, aiming for "sports to be part of people's daily lives and for practicing it to be as easy as going down to your neighborhood square." According to Alcalà, the program not only promotes healthy habits but also "brings our public spaces to life and creates opportunities for us to meet, connect, and enjoy together."
In Dénia, the program will maintain its usual format of two monthly sessions, generally on Saturdays, which will change locations to reach different areas of the city. The first dates are October 17th at Consell Square and October 31st at Maria Hervás Square. In November, activities will move to Jaume I Square (14th) and Oest Square (28th).
Throughout the following months, the program will continue to visit various points in the city, such as La Vía street, Mariana Pineda Square, Convent Square, the Diana Woods, the Glorieta del País Valencià, Town Hall Square, or Torrecremada, among other locations, until the season concludes in May.
The sessions will combine physical maintenance exercises and music-driven movements, with an accessible and participatory proposal that does not require prior sports experience. To participate, simply attend the indicated place and time with comfortable clothing, sports shoes, and water. The complete schedule can be found on information posters or by contacting the Sports Department at 96 578 69 68 or esports.denia.es.
As a novelty, the Sports Department has also prepared a specific program for the local entities of La Xara and Jesús Pobre, with four sessions in each. In Jesús Pobre, the first date will be October 24th at Pou de la Murtera Square, with further sessions in December, February, and April. In La Xara, the program will begin on November 21st at Garrofer Square, with more sessions on January 23rd, March 20th, and May 15th.
In this way, the program expands its territorial presence and reinforces the idea that any square can become a space for sports, health, and spending time with others.
