The 'Feretes i Cançonetes' Festival Fills Paiporta with Music and Color for October 9th

Paiporta is preparing to celebrate October 9th with the Feretes i Cançonetes Festival, a cultural and festive event organized by the City Council at the Villa Amparo Gardens, designed for family enjoyment.

The Villa Amparo Gardens will be the main stage for this celebration, offering from 10:30 AM a variety of activities for all ages. Young children can enjoy face painting, traditional games, instrument workshops, and the construction of juggling toys, a reading corner, a mask workshop, and coloring activities, among other proposals. Music will play a prominent role with the concert by Ramonets at 11 AM and Primavera Valenciana at 12:30 PM.
The councilor for Education and the Agency for the Promotion of Valencian AVIVA Paiporta, Olga Sandrós, highlighted that the program allows to “celebrate October 9th through culture, our language, and our traditions”. She emphasized that the activities are designed for families to enjoy together, for children to discover their own culture, and for Valencian to be present in leisure spaces, thus creating community among the people of Paiporta.
The mayor of Paiporta, Vicent Ciscar, stressed that October 9th is “the day of our land”, a date to remember “our roots, our history, and everything we share as a people”, celebrating it with joy and citizen participation.
The commemoration will also include institutional events on Thursday, October 8th. At 7 PM, the Council Chamber of the City Hall will host the October 9th Recognition Ceremony, which this year highlights two individuals and one entity for their contribution to the municipality. Following this, at 8:30 PM, the traditional Entrada de la Senyera (Procession of the Valencian Flag) will take place through the town's streets, starting in Jaume I street and ending at the City Hall, with the collaboration of the Moros i Cristians Coordinating Board and local cultural associations.
The councilor for Culture, Esther Torrijos, emphasized the symbolic value of the Entrada de la Senyera as a key moment to claim culture and traditions, and encouraged citizens to accompany it. The program is completed by the participation of Paiporta's bakeries in distributing bags of dried fruits with the purchase of the Mocadorà, thus keeping alive a tradition rooted in the festivities.
