Torrent Kicks Off Patron Saint and Moors and Christians Festivals

The city celebrates an intense weekend with concerts, shows, children's activities, and traditional events.

The city of Torrent kicks off its highly anticipated Patron Saint Festivals in honor of Saints Abdón and Senén this Friday, with a program featuring concerts, shows, children's activities, and the initial events of the Moors and Christians festivities.

Torrent is fully immersed in its Patron Saint Festivals with a program designed for all ages. The city's main squares and streets will transform into stages for culture, music, traditions, and leisure. Additionally, the official start of the Moors and Christians Festivals, one of the most emblematic events on the local festive calendar, begins.
Over three days, residents and visitors can enjoy a diverse program. The Generalitat Valenciana, through the Comunitat Valenciana, promotes these activities which include sports competitions, children's activities, concerts, musicals, comedy shows, and street parties. The Federation of Moors and Christians, the comparsas, cultural entities, and associations, along with municipal services, have worked to ensure safe and participatory festivals.
Friday, July 24th's program features the Final of the 'Trofeo Ciudad de Torrent de Escala i Corda' (Youth) at the José María Veguer Trinquet, the Offering to the Saints of the Stone at the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption, and the traditional Proclamation of the Moors and Christians Festivals in the Plaza Mayor. The evening will offer shows like "Cantares de España: La Historia de la Copla" in the Plaza de la Iglesia, and musical performances and stand-up comedy in various city locations.
Saturday, July 25th, will be marked by family and children's activities. In the morning, the Children's Chess Tournament will take place at L'Espai. In the afternoon, the Plaza Pintor Miró will host Traditional Children's Games and Parc Central will feature the "Carnival" Fair. At 7:00 PM, one of the most endearing events of the Moors and Christians Festivals, the Children's 'Entradeta', will take place. The night will feature the musical "The Legends", a tribute to Héroes del Silencio, and a large street party in the Plaza Mayor.
Sunday, July 26th, highlights include the Grandparents' Day at Plaza Unió Musical with the duo ¡Oh Lalá!, and the spectacular Moors' Conquest (Trabucà) in the Plaza Mayor. There will also be the children's musical "Aladdín" and tribute concerts to Mocedades. The musical finale will feature Rosa López, Chema Rivas, and Natalia in Plaza de la Libertad, along with stand-up comedy acts in the Civil Guard Parking Lot.
With this intense program, Torrent begins the central days of its Patron Saint Festivals and welcomes celebrations that will fill the city with color, music, and tradition, consolidating it as one of the most important festive events on the Valencian calendar.
