The festivities in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows in Benetússer will take place from September 19 to 27, 2025. The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows has organized an extensive program of events that will begin on Saturday the 19th with the Brotherhood's Day. At 12:00 PM, a festive Angelus will be rung, followed by a Celebration of the Eucharist at 7:30 PM, which will include the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the novena to Our Lady of Sorrows. Additionally, medals will be presented to new members. The evening will culminate at 10:30 PM with a concert by the Coral Mare de Déu del Socors, accompanied by the Coral José Roca of Valencia, in the chapel of the Institut Ntra. Sra. del Socorro (C/ Cervantes).
On Sunday the 20th, Day of the Elderly and Evangelizers, the day will begin at 10:30 AM with the Celebration of the Eucharist in the chapel, which will include the Anointing of the Sick. Afterwards, the Brotherhood will offer lunch to the elderly in the courtyard of the school Ntra. Sra. del Socorro. In the afternoon, at 6:30 PM, the pilgrim image of Our Lady of Sorrows will be transferred from the Parish Temple to the cemetery, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary. The religious day will conclude at 7:30 PM with another Celebration of the Eucharist.
On Monday the 21st, Day of the Fallas, Regional Houses, and Associations, the Celebration of the Eucharist with novena to Our Lady of Sorrows will take place at 7:30 PM, with the participation of brotherhoods and music bands. On Tuesday the 22nd, Day of the Choir, Brotherhoods, and Music Bands, at 7:00 PM, the pilgrim image will leave the Parish Temple through a route that will include Molí, San Roque, Palleter, Marqués del Turia, Maestro Atanasio García Zapater, and Cervantes streets, to the Cofradía del Santísimo Cristo de la Misericordia, where Holy Mass will be celebrated. The poetry group 'Versos al Viento' will recite poems to the Patron Saint.
On Wednesday the 23rd, Day of Vocations, Authorities, Healthcare Professionals, Teachers, and Professors, the Celebration of the Eucharist and novena will be at 7:30 PM. On Thursday the 24th, Day of Children, Youth, and the Junior Movement, the mass and novena will also be at 7:30 PM, with the collaboration of the youth from the junior movement. On Friday the 25th, Day of the Subscribers, the mass and novena will be held at 7:30 PM, and a gift will be raffled among attendees. Additionally, at 8:30 PM, at the CC Molí, organized by the Culture Department, a poetry recital 'Una vida entre visillos' will be held in homage to Carmen Martín Gaite.
On Saturday the 26th, Day of Families and the Baixà de la Virgen, at 12:00 PM, there will be a festive Angelus and firing of honor salutes. At 7:30 PM, a Celebration of the Eucharist and novena for all the families of the town. At 10:30 PM, the Solemn Vigil will take place at the Church of Ntra. Sra. del Socorro in Benetússer, with the participation of the Coral Mare de Déu del Socors. The descent of the 'Mare de Déu' will be carried out by the brotherhood Santo Descendimiento y Cristo Resucitado. The night will include poetry by Carmen Juan Ferrer, Nit d'albaes with the dolçainet Chornet, and hot chocolate in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (C/ Cervantes).
On Sunday the 27th, Day of the Feast of Our Patron Saint, there will be mass at 9:00 AM in the Chapel and at 12:00 PM in the Parish Temple. At 7:00 PM, a gathering of Authorities and Brotherhood members in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to proceed to the Parish Temple. At 7:30 PM, Solemn Mass with the participation of the Coral Mare de Déu del Socors. The day will conclude at 9:00 PM with the Solemn Procession in honor of the Virgin of Sorrows and Saint Sebastian, with the participation of the entire town, Festeras, Falleros, and faithful, presided over by the Authorities and Brotherhood members. The procession will be opened by the Hawwara Dance group.
