The Paterna City Council has organized two theatrical performances of the play "¿Por qué a mí?" to educate schoolchildren about the risks of cyberbullying and promote responsible social media use.

The awareness campaign, aimed at students in the final years of Primary Education, is part of the municipal commitment to addiction prevention and child protection. The play, by the company Teatre de Caixó, was performed last Friday at the Teatro Capri, with the participation of schoolchildren from Liceo Hispano and the schools Cervantes, Clara Campoamor, and Sanchis Guarner.
The play tells the story of three young people and addresses conflicts related to the use of technology and social media. The Councilor for Health, Julio Fernández, highlighted that the theater-forum methodology allows schoolchildren to actively participate, reflect, and seek solutions to situations they may encounter in their daily digital lives.
After the performance, a debate opens where students can intervene, propose alternatives, and even take the stage to rehearse ways to resolve conflicts. Fernández emphasizes that the goal is for young people to learn to identify risky behaviors, recognize toxic relationships in the digital environment, and have tools to cope with peer pressure and cyberbullying.
This initiative is part of the Municipal Plan for Addiction Prevention of the Paterna City Council, which includes information and prevention actions for the entire population, with special attention to children and adolescents. The campaign is complemented by workshops conducted by the Community Unit for the Prevention of Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA) in the municipality's schools, aimed at both students and parents.
The City Council is committed to education, participation, and early prevention as fundamental tools to promote healthy digital habits and protect the well-being of the municipality's children.
