The initiative, supported by the Department of Social Welfare of the Orihuela City Council, will be held from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Avenida del Pino, number 80, with a solidarity entrance fee of one euro.
The activity stems from a family's idea to transform their home into a haunted house open to the public. This event aims to offer Halloween fun, raise visibility for people with disabilities, and encourage their community participation.
Five members from the Protocol School of Residencia Oriol will act as hosts, welcoming attendees, distributing candy, and guiding visitors through the haunted house. This participation will allow them to practice social and communication skills developed at the school.
“"It is an opportunity for people with disabilities to actively participate, interact with neighbors, and demonstrate their abilities in an atmosphere of coexistence and fun."
The Councillor for Social Welfare, Agustina Rodríguez, highlighted the initiative's value, stating it goes beyond a Halloween celebration. She also thanked the generosity of the organizing family and the involvement of Residencia Oriol.
The funds raised will be allocated to the inclusive leisure programs and projects of Residencia Oriol, aiming to promote social participation and offer new experiences to its residents.
