A draft Royal Decree has been presented to regulate the promotion, advertising, and information of infant formulas, follow-on formulas, milk-based drinks, and other similar products intended for young children, as well as cereal-based processed foods and infant foods for infants and young children. The regulation aims to protect public health, particularly concerning their influence on breastfeeding and infant feeding decisions, without introducing new composition or labeling requirements.
A proposal amends Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2090 to strengthen coercive measures against non-compliance with veterinary medicine waiting periods, exceeding maximum residue limits, and illegal treatments in animals intended for human consumption. Specific rules are established for animals already slaughtered or products that have been mixed, declaring them unfit and ordering their disposal where appropriate. It also details requirements for the investigation, monitoring, and risk management of mixed batches.
Finally, a Resolution from the General Secretariat of Fisheries has been published, establishing the list of commercial denominations for fish and aquaculture species admitted in Spain for preserved foods and preparations. This resolution is part of Royal Decree 1082/2025, and the denomination listed will be official throughout the national territory.
