Valencia is gearing up for one of the most anticipated celebrations of the year: the 2026 Moors and Christians Festival. Throughout October, the city will be filled with color, gunpowder, and music in a tribute to history and Mediterranean tradition. The festive spirit is kept alive year-round with preliminary events in May and July.
The Turia Garden, between the Puente de la Exposición and the Puente de las Flores, will become the setting for the Medieval Market from October 2nd to 13th. This space will feature stalls of crafts, gastronomy, and period shows in the heart of the old riverbed, offering an authentic journey to the past to enjoy with family or friends.
The Grand Parade of Moors and Christians will be one of the main spectacles, a grand procession where the two sides advance with their squads and music to recreate the historical battles that give meaning to this celebration.
The calendar of festive events includes the Entraeta Festera (Mini-Parade) on October 2nd at 8:00 PM, which will tour the historic center from the Plaza de la Virgen to the Mercado Central. The next day, October 3rd, the Children's Parade will take place at 5:00 PM, from the Plaza del Tossal to the Torres de Serranos, followed by the Embajadas (Theatrical Reenactments) at 8:30 PM in the Plaça dels Furs, a theatrical act that revives the city's capitulation.
On October 4th, the day will begin with the Floral Offering at 10:30 AM in the Plaza de la Reina, followed by the Alardo (Musket Fire Display) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, with the thunder of arquebuses.
The main day, the Grand Parade of Moors and Christians, will be held on October 9th. It will begin with the Bajada de Gloria (Descent of Glory) at 4:00 PM from the Glorieta, as a prelude to the grand parade that will start at 5:00 PM from the same location, parading through streets such as calle de la Paz and San Vicente to Marqués de Sotelo. Along the route, spectators can enjoy colorful Moorish and Christian squads, live music, and dances, celebrating the day of the Valencian Community.
