The Alicante Port Authority has announced a public-private investment plan that will mobilize 241 million euros between 2026 and 2030, following significant growth in its activity during the first months of the year.

The Board of Directors has reviewed the 2027 Business Plan, which includes strategic actions for the modernization of facilities. Priorities include dock improvements, strengthening rail connections with the Mediterranean Corridor, and the electrification of berths to reduce cruise ship emissions.
Economic data shows a positive trend, with a 10.8% increase in turnover and a 20.7% rise in cumulative port traffic as of May 31. Container movement has grown by 30.1%, while the cruise sector has seen a 21.6% increase.
Within the investment program, 45 million euros will be allocated to dock 19 and 13.6 million to rail infrastructure. Additionally, 16 million will be invested in the OPS system to supply electricity to docked ships, and 10.2 million for the development of the Coastal Front Master Plan.
Furthermore, the creation of a new 2,000-square-meter clean point at dock 17 for ship waste management has been approved, as well as the ordinance regulating its Sandbox, a controlled environment for validating technological and innovative projects in collaboration with companies and universities.
