The Valencian Community faces a very adverse weather situation with temperatures potentially reaching 43 degrees Celsius and an extreme risk of forest fires, particularly in Valencia and Alicante.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued warnings for this Wednesday and Thursday due to the forecast of maximum temperatures that could reach 43 degrees Celsius, accompanied by persistent westerly winds and an extreme fire risk. The provinces of Valencia and Alicante are the most affected by this intense heat episode.
Wednesday is expected to be the most critical day, with very high temperatures in both coastal and inland areas. The combination of hot air from the interior, westerly winds, and very low humidity significantly increases the danger to health and the natural environment.
In addition to the direct impact of the heat, forest fire danger indices have reached extreme values. Aemet indicates that the combination of high temperatures, sustained wind, and very dry atmosphere over already desiccated vegetation facilitates a very rapid spread of fire.
The meteorological agency has highlighted the vulnerability of certain groups to this situation, reminding people of the importance of taking protective measures such as avoiding sun exposure during the central hours of the day, staying hydrated, and seeking cool places.
For this Wednesday, a level orange warning, indicating significant danger, has been established in the provinces of Alicante and Valencia. Maximum temperatures could reach 43 degrees Celsius between 1 PM and 9 PM. General maximums are expected around 41 degrees in the province of Valencia and the northern coast of Alicante, with some spots potentially reaching 42 or 43 degrees. In the interior and southern coast of Alicante, maximums will be around 40 degrees, values higher than usual for this time of year.
Aemet urges the public to follow updated information and exercise extreme caution to avoid any behavior that could cause a forest fire, given the extreme vulnerability of the terrain.
