The Elda City Council has decreed the closure of parks, gardens, and municipal outdoor sports facilities, including swimming pools, for tomorrow, Thursday, August 20, due to an orange alert for heavy rain and storms.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a special orange-level alert for the interior of Alicante province, which will be in effect from 12:00 PM to 9:59 PM. Heavy rainfall is expected, potentially accompanied by large hail, strong wind gusts, and electrical storms.
To ensure public safety, parks and public gardens, municipal outdoor sports facilities, and the San Crispín Summer Pools will remain closed to the public during the alert period.
The involved departments and security forces urge the public to act with maximum caution, avoid unnecessary travel during peak intensity hours, and stay away from wooded areas or places prone to water accumulation.
Citizens are advised to stay informed solely through official public administration and emergency service sources.
