Riba-roja de Túria commemorates October 9th, the Day of the Valencian Community, with a program featuring the 'Tío Canya' Festival, traditional events, and tributes to music and the figure of Jaume I.

The third edition of the ‘Tío Canya’ Festival pays tribute to music ‘in Valencian’, coinciding with the October 9th celebrations. The Riba-roja de Túria City Council has organized festivities for all audiences, which began on October 3rd with the VII Bandistic Cycle ‘Ara sona Riba-roja’, a tribute to the legacy of music bands. The public enjoyed performances by the bands Unió Musical de Picanya, Unió Musical Santa Cecilia de Villar del Arzobispo, and the Banda Sinfónica Unió Musical de Riba-roja de Túria.
On the afternoon of October 4th, the Parc Municipal Maldonado hosted the children's play ‘Jaume I’, commemorating the 750th anniversary of his death. Valencian music will be a highlight with two free concerts from the III ‘Tío Canya’ Festival: on October 8th, Pep Gimeno 'El Botifarra' will present 'Ja ve l'aire', and on October 9th, Marea Mediterránea will perform covers of classics by groups such as La Gossa Sorda, La Fumiga, and Zoo.
Valencian pilota will also have its space on October 8th at the Trinquet Municipal El Rullo with the professional match Pro 1_ ‘Trofeu 9 d’octubre’, in the escala i corda modality.
On October 9th, the program will begin at 10:30 AM with the signing of the Municipal Book of Honor by the Mayoresses of Fallas, Tamara Tello Ruiz and Thalía Gallach Albiach. At 11:00 AM, the 'Baixada de la Reial Senyera' will take place with traditional music and an institutional speech by Antonio López Folgado. Afterwards, the associations 'Del corral i del carrer' and Valçaina will lead the civic procession with a ‘dansà’.
The town's Fallas committees, the municipal corporation, and social representatives will parade accompanied by the Banda Simfònica Unió Musical de Riba-roja. The 'Senyera' will be carried by members of the Unió de Jubilats i Pensionistes and the Fadrins 2027. After the civic procession, in the Plaça de l'Ajuntament, there will be a traditional dansà, a tasting of the 'mocadorà', and a fireworks display. The day will also include a game of raspall in Carrer Bodeguetes and children's games in Plaza Adolfo Suárez.
“

"We once again have a magnificent opportunity to reclaim the identity, history, and values of the Valencian people, with special emphasis on the figure of Jaume I, whose entry into our territory marks the historical origin of Valencian political and territorial identity."
