La Vuelta returns to L'Eliana on August 29

The town will host the eighth stage of the Spanish tour, which starts in Monaco this year and concludes in Granada.

L'Eliana will once again be a focal point in La Vuelta on August 29, hosting the eighth stage of the cycling competition, a flat 171-kilometer stage.

The town of L'Eliana will be part of La Vuelta's route on Saturday, August 29, for Stage 8. This flat stage will cover a distance of 171 kilometers and will run between Puçol and Xeraco. La Vuelta 2026 will take place from August 22 to September 13, featuring 21 stages and a total of 3,275 kilometers. The competition will start for the first time from Monaco and conclude in Granada, near the Alhambra. This will be the third time the cycling tour passes through L'Eliana, following two previous occasions in 2019.
To mark this sporting event, the City Council has called upon citizens to participate as volunteers in the support team for the organization during the peloton's passage.
Interested individuals must register in advance through the provided online form and attend a mandatory informational meeting on Friday the 28th at 12:00 PM in the Plenary Hall. During the meeting, volunteer roles, schedules, meeting points, and all necessary instructions to ensure the smooth running of the day will be explained.
The City Council encourages residents to join this initiative and experience firsthand one of the country's major sporting events, contributing to the safe and orderly development of the day.
