The Riba-roja de Túria City Council, through the Equality Department, organized the fifth edition of the Violet Night, an event that highlighted the defense of equality in the municipality. This year, the event introduced for the first time the «Ponts per la Igualtat» Recognitions, promoted by the local Equality Council, which were marked by emotion and recognition for women and groups who have contributed to advancing towards a more just society.
The evening also included space for humor and culture with a performance by monologuist Maru Candel, bringing a close to a celebration where equality demands coexisted with moments of joy and recognition.
The I «Ponts per la Igualtat» Recognitions honored six women linked to the municipality for their careers and commitment. Mentxu Puyuelo Cazorla, a professor at CFPA, received her award from Carmen Folgado Teresí. Júlia López Galdón, former president of the Associació Dones de la Mediterrània, was recognized by Dora Gorrea. The posthumous recognition for Palmira Tarín Sánchez, founder of the Associació Tyrius, was accepted by her daughter Ana Luján Tarín, presented by Mari Ángeles García Ayllón. Encarna Roselló, from the Associació Malala, could not attend, and the award was received by Delfina Verdeguer. Candela Zapata García, co-president of the Association against Cancer, was awarded by Paula Navarro Sanfeliu (PP), and Chelo Álvarez Sanchis, president of ALANNA, received her award from Miriam Liébana (PSOE).
The event underscored the importance of building equality across generations and from different societal spheres, honoring both pioneers and those who continue to work daily to keep these values alive.
Furthermore, a special segment was dedicated to recognizing the work of the local associative fabric. The mayor of Riba-roja, Robert Raga, and the Councilor for Equality, Raquel Pamblanco Paredes, presented special mentions to the Associació Tyrius (represented by Rosa Serrano Bueno), Fadrins 2026 (represented by Javier Soriano), the Associació de Bolilleras (represented by Virginia Martínez López and Aurora Soriano Policarpo), the Associació Malala (represented by Concha Noguera Puchol), the Associació Bunyoleres del Poble (represented by Amelia Mota Martínez), and the Associació Dones de la Mediterrània (represented by Paquita Velasco Zorrilla).
These mentions highlighted the collective work of feminist associations within the Equality Council and other local entities collaborating on municipal initiatives.

The V Violet Night is part of the commemorative program for November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The commemoration will continue on Friday, October 2nd, with the presentation of the book El poder de la verdad, by Nevenka Fernández, in the Sala Noble of the Castell de Riba-roja.
