The University of Valencia (UV) is once again bringing its educational programs to Sagunto. The initiative includes offerings for both individuals over 55 and the general public, covering subjects such as archaeology, history, heritage, and culture. These courses are divided into four monographic modules for La Nau Gran en Obert and a 'History, Archaeology, and Heritage' training itinerary for La Nau Gran.
Online enrollment for La Nau Gran en Obert courses will open on September 7 at 9 AM. These courses are noted for their flexibility in duration, schedules, and dates, as reported by the Sagunto City Council. The complete offering and enrollment process will be available on the official La Nau Gran en Obert website of the UV.
The Civic Center of the Old Sanatorium of Port de Sagunt will serve as the operational hub for some of the monographic courses. Among them is 'Mare Nostrum, from Sagunto to Pompeii,' taught by Amparo Mateo, Llorenç Alapont, and Miguel Requena, which will include an intensive training stay in Pompeii. Other courses planned for 2027 are 'Writing in Antiquity: From Clay to Parchment,' 'Sagunto: Cultural Rights and Capabilities from its Heritage,' and 'Grau Vell Opens to the Sea and Sagunto Transforms: Archaeology (5th Century BC - 5th Century AD).'
Meanwhile, La Nau Gran, aimed at individuals over 55 interested in continuing their university education, will open its registration period on September 15. Places will be assigned strictly in order of registration, and the UV will contact accepted applicants, according to municipal sources.
