The intervention, carried out by the Local Police, occurred after officers detected vehicle movement at the facility, which already had a previous resolution ordering the cessation of activity. With this action, the council maintains its commitment to enforcing current urban planning regulations.
The municipal operation has carried out around 81 inspections to date within the municipality, where more than 110 parking lots have been identified. Authorities have noted that, in total, these facilities have the capacity to house more than 4,500 vehicles.
The local government has reported that other files are in an advanced stage of resolution, so further closures are expected in the coming weeks. It was also recalled that the courts have dismissed the precautionary measures requested by other previously closed parking lots.
The municipal goal is to ensure that all activities operate on equal terms and with the required documentation. In the case of parking lots existing before the modification of the General Plan, owners have a three-month period to submit technical projects and safety measures for their possible regularization.
