The conference, taking place from 09:30 to 14:00 hours, will feature specialists in history, archaeology, anthropology, and gender studies. Researcher Anastasia Téllez Infantes, director of the Portal de la Diosa at the ECULGE UMH group; Susana María Guerrero Sempere, secretary of the Institutional Chair of the Lady of Elche; and Rosario Carmona Paredes, director of the Equality Unit of the UMH, will open the event.
At 10:00 hours, speaker Jesús Manuel de la Cruz Martín will deliver the lecture 'Iberian Ladies. A History of Power Named Woman'. Subsequently, the director of the Institutional Chair of the Lady of Elche, Francisco Vives Boix, will introduce and moderate the session.
After a break, Francisco Vives Boix will present the work of the Institutional Chair of the Lady of Elche, while researcher María Amparo Calabuig Puig will introduce the project 'Portal de la Diosa. Female Spirituality and Spiritual Feminism' from the ECULGE UMH group.
At 12:00 hours, a round table with four presentations will begin. Participants will include Marta Blanco Fernández (IES Altaia of Altea) with 'Sovereigns of the Invisible: Sacrality and Power in Iberian Women'; anthropologist and archaeologist Alberto Bernabé Salgueiro with 'The Feminine Divinity: Its Survival'; Ana María Ronda Femenía (La Alcudia University Foundation for Archaeological Research) with 'The Echoes of Eleusis in the Painted Pottery of L’Alcúdia'; and Fernando Herranz Velázquez (University of Murcia) with 'Power and the Symbolic: A Male Domain? Representation, Culture, and History'. Anastasia Téllez Infantes will introduce the debate session, and the closing remarks will be given by Cristina Mora Rodríguez, co-director of the Institutional Chair of the Lady of Elche.
The program will be complemented by a guided tour of the L’Alcúdia archaeological site, from 17:00 to 18:30 hours, to connect the conference content with Elche's archaeological heritage.
Additionally, today, Friday, October 2nd, at 19:00 hours, the Ali i Truc bookstore will host the presentation of the book 'Damas Ibéricas. Una historia del poder con nombre de mujer', with the participation of its author, Jesús Manuel de la Cruz Martín.
