The Orihuela City Council has received a grant of 22,804.52 euros from the Generalitat Valenciana to consolidate the 'Orihuela en Movimiento' program, aimed at health promotion through physical activity.

The Generalitat Valenciana's Directorate General for Sport has awarded the council an economic aid to continue developing and strengthening this initiative. The 'Orihuela en Movimiento' program aims to improve citizens' quality of life, foster healthy habits, and provide tools for the prevention and management of health problems through physical exercise.
Driven jointly by the Councils for Sports and Health, led by Víctor Sigüenza and Irene Celdrán respectively, the program is carried out in collaboration with the Orihuela Health Department. This cooperation seeks to strengthen coordination between the health and sports sectors to offer safe, personalized physical exercise programs tailored to each participant's needs.
The grant will allow for the expansion and consolidation of the service, enabling more people to access physical exercise programs focused on improving their health, functionality, and overall well-being.
Víctor Sigüenza highlighted that the Council for Sports continues to work to ensure physical activity is a fundamental pillar in the municipality's health promotion policies. He thanked the Orihuela Health Department and the professionals involved for their collaboration, emphasizing that their work contributes to making Orihuela a city committed to its residents' health.
