The Orihuela City Council has expanded its incident web application to include street cleaning and urban solid waste (RSU) collection services in the coastal area.

The tool will enable residents to report incidents and request bulky waste collection quickly and easily, by attaching photos, location, and other relevant information. The aim is to speed up response times, improve work planning, and offer a more efficient and accessible service.
This web application, initially a pilot project for road maintenance incidents on the coast, is now being extended to street cleaning and RSU services following positive results. This initiative complements the renewal of the vehicle fleet, which includes 12 new collection trucks, 9 3,500 kg trucks, 4 sweepers, a vacuum truck, a high-pressure washer, and new containers, along with increased seasonal staff and the tendering of container rental and transport services. This represents an investment exceeding six million euros over the past two years.
Residents can now report street cleaning and waste collection incidents or request bulky waste removal through the Orihuela Limpia website or by using the provided QR code. The system allows for photo attachments, precise location indication, and related information. It will also inform users about the correct day and place for depositing bulky items, the location of mobile eco-parks, and notify them once an incident has been resolved.
Councilor Rocío Ortuño explained that the tool will provide a more accurate understanding of the service's real needs and improve its organization, particularly concerning the uncontrolled abandonment of bulky items, pruning waste, or debris. For instance, in June 2026, 2,580 points of bulky waste were removed from the coastline with only 228 reported incidents, and 408 mattresses were collected following just two notifications. Ortuño urged citizens to use the tool and adhere to the Street Cleaning, RSU, and Citizen Coexistence Ordinance, avoiding the deposit of waste without prior notice.
Ortuño highlighted that this expansion is a further step in the government's commitment to improving the service by offering more accessible communication channels. Once established on the coast, the application will be progressively implemented in the urban center and surrounding districts, supported by an informative campaign.
The web application complements existing service channels: on the coast, residents can call 965 757 888 or use mobile 635 321 451, and email aseourbano@orihuela.es and administracion@ecoplanservicios.es. For the urban area and districts, the phone number is 965 306 178 and the email is aseourbano@orihuela.es. The website is www.orihuelalimpia.com.
