The Department of Health, headed by Irene Celdrán, has approved the investment for the manual removal of leaves, branches, soil, and other accumulated debris that hinder rainwater drainage. The service includes cleaning inlets, drains, and evacuation points, checking the functionality of downspouts, and managing the generated waste. These works will be completed within one month of their award.
Celdrán explained that the City Council, in fulfilling its responsibility to maintain public service facilities, must ensure the proper condition of the medical centers and their rainwater drainage systems. She warned that failure to act promptly with the arrival of the rainy season could lead to blockages, overflows, leaks, and dampness, resulting in the deterioration of buildings and potentially affecting the normal operation of essential healthcare facilities.
In parallel, the City Council is processing a maintenance contract for the municipality's medical centers, which includes periodic maintenance of roofs, gutters, and downspouts. Therefore, the current action is a one-off measure to address existing needs until the new contract is formalized.
