Almoradí today celebrated the inauguration of the new CEIP El Gabato, a newly constructed educational center that is now a reality for the municipality's families and students.

The official opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, and the Minister of Education, Culture, and Universities, María del Carmen Ortí. They were joined by the mayor of Almoradí, María Gómez, and the Councilor for Education, Susana Miralles, for a festive occasion to mark the launch of a key educational infrastructure for the municipality.
A festive atmosphere marked the day, with activities including a magic show, a tribute to Las Guerreras K-Pop, and circus entertainment, designed for students, families, and the entire educational community. Mayor María Gómez expressed her emotion at seeing the center open and full of life, highlighting the years of work and significant investment the project required.
«This school represents more space, more possibilities, and better conditions for our students. But, above all, it represents the future,» stated Gómez, emphasizing that the new center offers improved conditions and a space for the youth's future. She noted that the celebration focused not on figures, but on the reality of a modern school prepared for current educational needs.
The President of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, affirmed that CEIP El Gabato, with an investment exceeding 8.5 million euros and capacity for over 700 students, was designed with future generations in mind. Councilor for Education, Susana Miralles, highlighted that the facilities are modern, functional, and adapted, intended as a space for learning, growing, and enjoying throughout Early Childhood and Primary Education.
The new center spans 6,007 square meters, features 30 classrooms, and includes spaces such as a library, music room, gymnasium, and school garden, in addition to 1,936 square meters of sports courts. The construction involved an approximate investment of 9 million euros, addressing a long-standing demand in the municipality.
The launch of CEIP El Gabato is significant at the regional level, being the only newly constructed school inaugurated this academic year in Vega Baja. Furthermore, it has expanded Almoradí's educational capacity and eased congestion in existing schools. This initiative is part of a broader improvement of the municipality's educational infrastructure, with investments exceeding 14 million euros in recent years.
The Almoradí City Council has also worked on improving the school's surroundings, facilitating access and ensuring adequate mobility. Mayor María Gómez concluded that the opening celebration will be remembered as a day when a space for the future of hundreds of children was opened, celebrating the effort made.
