Hotels in Vinaròs recorded an average occupancy of 95% during August 2026, a figure that rises to 96% when weighted by available capacity. Tourist apartments, on the other hand, reached 93% occupancy, with a complete sell-out of adapted apartments.
The domestic market continues to be the main driver of tourism in the town, representing 77% of hotel guests and 67% in apartments. Foreign visitors account for 23% in hotels and 33% in apartments, showing growth in this segment.
“"Closing August with these figures confirms that Vinaròs is a consolidated destination and that the promotion work of recent years is yielding results."
The Councillor for Tourism, Mercedes García, has emphasized that these figures demonstrate the strength of Vinaròs as a tourist destination, not just for specific weekends, but for an entire month. García has placed special emphasis on the 100% occupancy of adapted apartments, considering it a tourism opportunity and a sign of an inclusive city. She also celebrated the growth of foreign tourism, which encourages intensified external promotion.
These results are attributed to joint work with the local tourism sector and the programming of summer activities, such as the «Summer Activities 2026» agenda. The councillor highlighted that the cultural, sports, and gastronomic offerings contribute to maintaining occupancy beyond the beach season.
García thanked the involvement of hotel establishments, apartments, and collaborating entities, acknowledging that the good figures are the result of collective effort. The Department's objective is to consolidate Vinaròs as an active destination throughout the year.
