Benicolet celebrated the procession of the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe this Tuesday, a central event of its patron saint festivities, with the presence of representatives from the Diputació de València and the region.

The Diputació de València has reaffirmed its commitment to the cultural traditions and projects of Benicolet, participating in the procession of the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe, one of the central events of the municipality's patron saint festivities. The first vice-president of the Diputació, Natàlia Enguix, and the provincial deputy Juan Ramón Adsuara, accompanied the mayor, Iván Martínez, and numerous residents in a procession through the town's streets. There was also a broad institutional representation from other municipalities in the Vall d’Albaida region.
Enguix highlighted the value of festivals as part of the life of municipalities and as a means of passing traditions between generations. She assured that the Diputació will continue to support these cultural events, which attract visitors and benefit local businesses. For his part, Adsuara emphasized the importance of the provincial presence alongside municipalities, not only in projects and investments but also in key moments for their identity and traditions, considering festivals as a meeting point that keeps culture and roots alive.
The celebration of the Cristo de la Fe is one of the most anticipated events of the Benicolet festivities. Enguix emphasized that accompanying municipalities in their festivals is a way of being close to their residents and sharing important moments of the year. This support also materializes in municipal projects, such as the 1.1 million euro grant for the creation of Benicolet's first auditorium, based on the recovery of the old Cooperativa San Juan Bautista, and the 818,070 euros from the Pla Obert d’Inversions (Open Investment Plan). Enguix highlighted Benicolet's work to improve its spaces and services, with the support of the Diputació.
Provincial collaboration also extends to sports programming, with the sponsorship by the Diputació, through the Culture area and SARC, of the XXII Festes Benicolet Trophy for Valencian pilota. This tournament, which pays tribute to the pilotari Nicolás Argente, includes matches between the clubs of Bicorp, Aielo de Malferit, Gavarda, and Alzira, as well as a professional women's match.
The mayor of Benicolet, Iván Martínez, thanked the Diputació for its presence and valued the opportunity to share one of the most emotional moments of the festivities with the residents. He highlighted the collaboration between the City Council and the Diputació, without which it would not be possible to carry out the improvements being developed in the municipality.
The procession also included the presence of the president of the Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Vall d’Albaida, Ismael Sanvíctor, and a broad institutional representation from the region, including mayors from various municipalities such as Bellús, Benigànim, Benissoda, Benissuera, Bufali, Bocairent, Llocnou de Sant Jeroni, Llutxent, Montitxelvo, El Palomar, Pinet, Sempere, and Beniatjar, as well as council members from Benicolet, l’Olleria, Terrateig, and Sueca, and former mayors of Benicolet.
