Companies interested in carrying out the work have until October 7 to submit their bids through the Public Sector Contracting Platform. The project involves the comprehensive renovation of the property to house the 'Ramon Haro Esplugues' Municipal Library, the headquarters of the Moors and Christians Festivities Committee, as well as multipurpose rooms for meetings and activities of local entities.
This initiative aims to improve the conditions of the library service, offering larger and more accessible spaces for reading, study, and cultural programming. Furthermore, the facility will strengthen Agullent's associative life, becoming a reference point for the municipality's culture and organizations.
The total investment for this project amounts to 544,640.17 euros. Of this sum, 436,000 euros come from an contribution by the Provincial Council of Valencia, as part of the Open Investment Plan 2024-2027. The remaining 108,640.17 euros will be financed by the Agullent City Council. It is worth noting that the property was previously acquired by the council for 140,000 euros, also with provincial funding.
The mayor of Agullent, Pau Muñoz, highlighted that the start of the bidding process represents "a very important step for a project we have been working on for years." He emphasized that "we are getting closer and closer to making a reality a new space that will meet the needs of the Municipal Library and, at the same time, will strengthen Agullent's cultural and associative life."
The opening of the bidding period marks a new administrative phase, which will lead to the awarding of the contracts and, subsequently, the commencement of the building's renovation works.
